It's been too long since I've blogged about our progress. This week the Commons has seen work reminiscent of a bee hive. First, a picture of how the new entrance into the office suite looked Tuesday morning.

And now a look at Joy, at work in what will be Nick's office by the end of the week.

Followed by a look at Joy's new office, which will be occupied this week.

The painters applied the clear coat to the wood trim Tuesday morning. We all "got high with a little help from our friend." The fumes were overpowering.

These guys actually did get high, with a little help from their friend, the sky lift. They were completing the touch up work on the paint.

The ceiling tiles are being installed. We did get the inspections completed and the work could proceed. YEAH!!!

Tools and workers were in abundance during my time of picture taking.

We're also changing out the ceiling in the hallway outside the worship center. The old tiles had been stained from repeated leaks. The hall will have a fresh, new look by this weekend.

Another view of the hall. You can't believe how much better this is looking.

A view from the north entrance. Notice all the paint buckets. We've applied a lot of paint getting this ready.

A closer look--and this isn't nearly all the paint we've used.

We are anxious to begin using our new conference room. We've even got a closet for our plotter--first time in it's existence that it will have it's own home.

We used to call this space "The Old Fellowship Hall." I think now it will just be "The Fellowship Hall."  We have an under counter refrigerator and a new ice maker ready to be installed.

The space that used to be small offices has been opened to become a very attractive classroom. Our Special Friends will enjoy this room with a view.

The new entrance to the Preschool is nearing completion. At the moment, the two kiosks for the Commons is being protected in the Preschool Reception area.

As I blog, it is late Wednesday afternoon and the workers are planning to work late. We had hoped to have Joy moved by this evening, but unexpected (imagine that, something unexpected related to construction) issues with the air conditioning has postponed our move until tomorrow. IF things go as planned (and that's a big IF) Joy will be in her new reception office AND Nick will finally have his office. Things probably will be a little awkward for a couple of weeks as we move the entrance into the office suite into the Commons, but don't have all the parking and drive way work completed. Please be patient with us--we're working as rapidly as possible to get this thing DONE! When completed I believe we all will say, "Wow, this was worth the wait and effort."
