Life seems extra busy when the kids are in school.
Now that summer is here, I want to encourage you to spend time with your kids.
Time that doesn't involve the telephone, computer, tv or video games.
Yes....I am going back to the dark ages, but our kids need our time with no distractions.
Spend sometime outside playing ball or riding bikes or watching it (trying) to rain.
Yes....I know I am really pushing the dark ages.
But you will not regret the time you spend with your kids.
There are way too many distractions in our everyday lives and as parents it is our repsonsibility and privilege to give our kids a time and a place where they can enjoy playing and hanging out without noise and media and being constantly busy.
They just need time to play and relax and not be constantly on the go.
I have heard it said a million times that my kids will be grown before I know it and now that they are in middle school and high school (and one is driving) I am really beginning to feel that we are on the down slope and they are more on the side that is grown than the side that is still growing.
I always thought I would miss each stage that they grew out of, but it's is actually exciting to see each stage they grow into. But because they are growing and getting older, it is harder and harder to find time when we are all together because of work schedules and camps and other things.
But you can count on one thing...I will always do my best to make sure we have family time and I encourage you to do the same.
