PURITY by DESIGN                                               March 6
During the course of the last 4 weeks, our ministry has utilized scripture, creative reality shows, personal testimonies, and age appropriate discussions to emphasize the value of incorporating a discipline of Purity into our lives.
Purity by Design is an opportunity for our students to make a commitment to pursue the discipline of purity. It is significant to encourage teenagers to make a conscious decision to follow God’s plan for purity. After discussing in detail what the scripture has to say, after hearing a variety of real life testimonies on the topic, we must complete the study with a challenge.
Accountability is critical in order to be successful. That accountability has been compromised by the enemy’s ability to nurture a vow of secrecy. That secrecy will bring defeat, guilt, and failure.
It is our intent with Purity by Design to reestablish a united family effort to successfully meet the purity expectations outlined in scripture. “A three cord strand cannot be quickly broken.”

The afternoon will begin with a FREE lunch for those families wishing to participate in the conversation. Following lunch, we will ask families with younger children to take them to childcare (available by reservation only: by March 2). We will then enter into a directed discussion on the discipline of purity. The thirty minutes that follow could bring a tremendous breakthrough in the life of your family. At the conclusion, I would encourage you to consider offering a token to your child in order to seal this commitment. In the event that you are unable to secure such a token, we plan to provide some and make them available to you following lunch.
I trust that you will consider this an investment into the future of your child and as a result do all that it takes to get here this Sunday, March 6.

SPAGHETTI Lunch                                              Report
You brought an incredible response to our luncheon a couple of weeks ago. Thank you for believing in our students and making an investment into their spiritual development. You helped us raise nearly $1000 to offset the cost of our Winter Retreat. This year we are headed to WinterPark, Colorado on March 11. We will have the opportunity to enjoy God’s creation for 4 days. During those four days we will spend at least 24 hours on a bus; 12 hours stuffing our face with local cuisine; 8 hours in Bible study; and 5 hours sleeping. It will be a blast!
Thank you, Bacon Heights, for your sacrificial investment.
I would also like to express my appreciation to April and Chris Copeland, Jamie and Don Savage, and Leslie Martin for all that they did to plan and prepare for this event. This is an amazing team of people that gave tirelessly to the cause to make sure that your dining experience was exceptional.

SKI WINTERPARK                                                  March 11-15
In just over one week 70 of us will be traveling deep into the Rockies of Colorado in a quest to witness the majesty of Christ! I would encourage you to partner with us in prayer. Jeremy Durig will be our retreat speaker. Jeremy is the youth pastor at my former church, FBC Liberal, KS. I trust the Lord will use his gift of evangelism to transform the hearts of our students!
We will pull out of the BHBC parking lot by 11:30pm on Friday, March 11 and return late on Tuesday, March 15.

PURITYEmphasis                                                       February
In 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, we find our focus for study during the course of February. What did Paul mean when he taught “you are the temple of the Holy Spirit…”? When we take a minute to consider the significance of the temple, we begin to appreciate the sacredness of the structure, because within the temple, God resides.
During this study series, we will explore how “being His temple” and our own “purity” collide? Join us.

SPAGHETTI Anyone?                                                Feb 13
Over the past several years, you have faithfully partnered with Bacon Bits and their families to make our Winter Retreat possible. This Sunday (February 13) marks another opportunity for God to reveal Himself to our students and their families as we host our annual Spaghetti Lunch in the Family Life Center beginning at 11:30am.
To express the significance of your partnership, I wanted to share one family’s testimony. For six years, this particular family has been sending their teenagers on Winter Retreat and for six years, they have noticed spiritual transformation. Remembering their oldest child’s first year on the slopes, he looked like a baby giraffe learning to take its first steps.  This, his last Winter Retreat as a student, he has become quite an accomplished skier that enjoys risking it all to land the perfect jump. After six years, he now enjoys the whole experience with his siblings. From the tremendous thrills to the horrendous spills, the mountains have been a place where this family has been able to enjoy the grandeur of God’s creation as well as the fellowship of family. For this family, BHBC Winter Retreat has become an annual event that remains a high priority on their family calendar. The memories, experiences, Bible studies, relationships and even the bumps and bruises have all been possible in large part because of your partnership and participation in our annual Student Ministry Spaghetti Lunch. For this family with 3 teenagers and the over 50 others that will be participating in this year’s Winter Retreat, thank you for joining us for BHBC’s Spaghetti Lunch.
